Committing to a carbon neutral future

We have joined forces with a network of membership associations to continue working towards carbon neutrality.

We have already made steps to becoming more sustainable, most notably our shift to sending our magazine in compostable, starch based packaging in September last year has already saved just under 70 kilos of plastic.

Additionally, we do not default to printing out all resources for attendees at our conferences. Since making this change we have saved a large volume of paper.

By joining Climate Action For Associations (CAFA) we will go further and develop a climate action plan specifically tailored to our organisation. This will allow us to continue to improve our practice.

Keven Bader, Chief Executive at CITMA said: “As the global climate emergency becomes increasingly immediate, we are delighted to take this important step in moving towards a carbon neutral future.

"We are excited to take further practical action in limiting our environmental impact, a choice which we hope will encourage a more climate aware attitude across the IP sector.”

Our environmental policy emphasises that we will always find ways to minimise our impact to the greatest possible extent.

CAFA is an initiative to bring together professional and trade members’ associations,  offering support and resources as we head towards carbon net zero.

We will benefit from the community of other members and a wealth of resources, intended to make the process as straightforward and mutually beneficial as possible.

We look forward to seeing where our partnership with CAFA will lead us in the future, and to making effective and meaningful change.
